This is an issue touched on before. The people have already spoken and chosen renewables. Any govt funding would have been insignificant and late to the party anyway.
The older "oiler" generation is diminishing rapidly, govts can either benefit by getting onboard or watch their electorate take charge at elections.
Trump can suck an egg if he chooses to remain ignorant to reality.
