The bottom line is that if Trump has nothing to hide he shouldn't be preventing the whistle blower from coming forward. If it is fake news and there is no whistle-blower then Trump can just say so. Testimony can be given to the appropriate Congress committee under a veil of secrecy if need be. The appropriate protections are in place.
