Trump becomes Pres with just 19% of eligible voters

It's absolutely crazy that the so called bastion
of democracy can elect their President and commander in chief
with just 19% of eligible voters.

While that responsibility rests with the people who fail to turn
up to vote it is still an indictment on a country where most people
opt out of the election process. It is not a successful system.

Hillary Clinton secured a higher vote so the winner
not only won with just 19% of eligible voters but also with a minority
of voter support.

Thank heaven for our Australian system which results in much greater
participation from its citizens.
