    We bought Manhattan island from the Native Americans, Thomas Jefferson bought a big piece of the USA from France in the Louisiana Purchase, We bought the same land over again to California by paying off Mexico's debt to Spain, we bought Alaska from Russia, we have Puerto Rico as a "protectorate" with full welfare benefits, etc.

    There is your answer re: Trump and Greenland.
