Before I got into lithium I was very interested in solar cells. I noticed a couple of years back that the major solar cell produces in China tanked after the US placed massive tariffs on all solar cells coming out of China. They have since reduced them, however it was pretty devastating for the companies at the time.
Trump has already mentioned he wants to put tariffs on everything coming out of China, whether or not he gets his 45% is anyones guess but I can imagine it wouldn't be good for battery produces and hence Australian lithium miners.
