I got that wrong about Trump being a convicted felon. I had heard a podcast about it and misheard what they said , so I looked it up.
BTW Trump is a sleaze ball that deserves to do time for his crimes.
In New York, a person is not officially considered a felon until a judgment (conviction) has been entered in a criminal case.
A judgment refers to the final decision or ruling made by a court after considering all the evidence and arguments presented during a trial and in Trump's case the judgement was that Trump is guilty. So Trump is convicted of the 34 charges, with a conviction occuring when a court formally finds a defendant guilty of a criminal offense. That is the bit I got wrong.
He definitely is convicted.
However Trump is not a felon until those charges are entered into the offical records , which details the sentencing as well as the charges and verdict.
And Trump has not been sentenced , so he isn't a felon, yet.
But he is a criminal rapist insurrectionist and soon to be felon. Roll on July !
