I was just two minutes from the Sari Club when the bombs struck Paddy's Bar and the Sari Club. In an instant, the world changed. A total of 202 people lost their lives, including 88 Australians, and 240 more were injured. We were all there just enjoying life, savouring the moment, never expecting to become targets.

I've experienced this before, like in Kamala, Thailand, where Muslim extremists targeted foreigners and me in restaurants. The threat is always lurking, even when all we do is live, laugh, and connect with others.

The Bali bombings, the shootings in Thailand, all these attacks – they aimed to shatter our peace and joy. But they only strengthened our resolve to keep living and enjoying life defiantly.
