Trump loves and cares about America, America is the US Constitution and Bill of rights etc, roe v wade was unconstitutional and America was lucky enough to have Trump as President when some unbiased Scotus Judges needed to be picked so in some ways he could take some credit for the overturning of Roe v Wade and restoration of US constitutional law on the matter.

Last fall he said it should be left up to the states knowing full well some extreme states will allow abortions right up until birth and some will or could ban it outright, the stance Trump takes on the matter is letting the people decide what they want State by State as the US constitution was designed and that shows he cares about America itself and also shows hes not a wanna be dictator that wants to bypass the the constitution due to any ideology he may or may not personally have and having a leader that lets the people decide their own futures over what the leaders personal ideology might be is a good thing for the people imo.

You guys have got to learn how to read and comprehend wording rather than getting sucked in to what they want you to think, I don't think he committed or backed what your trying to suggest at all and neither is that article you linked. The article just says...according to two people with direct knowledge which is laughable because the NY times wouldn't know two people with direct knowledge of what Trump is thinking.
Two paragraphs later them journo says ... " Mr. Trump told one of these people, who was given anonymity to describe a private conversation. “It’s even. It’s four months.”

You've got no way to know if what the NY times is saying there is true, theres no verification of any of the "sources" and thus could well be complete BS especially when further down in the article it actually reports on Trumps true stance on the matter when Lindsey Graham tried him out with a Bill and Trump didn't back it and when Trump recently said it's up to the States.

" One of Mr. Trump’s allies, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, introduced legislation in 2022 calling for a 15-week abortion ban with exceptions for rape, incest and the life of the mother after that window closes. Mr. Trump never backed the bill, which other prominent Republicans distanced themselves from, and he said as recently as last fall that the decision should be left up to states to decide. "

Seems to me, Trump is quite centre on the issue, he supports the people voting on it knowing States will vote in a ranging ways from one extreme to the other. Truth is, Trump delivers something for everyone with his stance.
