Actually the Judge specifically went out of his way to accommodate Trump's request to not attend court on that date. Judge Merchan actually paused court for that day to help Trump out and allow him to go to the graduation. I don't think Trump even said "thanks". So Trump's story is 100% a flat out lie.
The good news is that Trump now has to go to the school graduation ceremony which most seem to believe he didn't really want to go to in the first place and this was just a stunt to continue his claims that he is a victim. Turns out he is now the victim of him own making and will now have to sit quietly at a boring ceremony where he won't the the center of attention. That can't end well.
