Greta ARMY Camp was converted into a MIGRANT Camp... 1950's

I remember much of that time... They were accepted by Most and to put it mildly, HATED by few.

Mostly Central Europeans,,, Yugoslavs.

I went to school with them (Greta Boys)... "Sledge" was one of my teenager mates ----- He came to our Wedding in 1969.

YES --- MIGRANTS = WE are ALL "MIGRANTS" in Australia .... Even our first "nomadic" hunters and gatherers.

My Dad refused to eat GARLIC....... until he ate some of "Dino's" culinary delights...Hahahaha.

Greta, NSW...My Home Town.... and MANY of the Camp Migrants settled in the Township.
