You are quite right about the dishonesty and deception displayed by the ABC. Another example (in addition to what you mentioned) was the Four Corners report on Nauru.
This report was found to include old photographs of facilities no longer in use, and random footage of brawling adults, previously published on YouTube by a user known only as “NoRulz” (who knows how much of this was actually 'staged'). During intense questioning at Senate estimates, ABC editorial director Alan Sunderland admitted the ABC did not film the footage that went to air.
Immigration Minister Peter Dutton rightfully accused the ABC of irresponsibility and said Four Corners had declined to use new photos and videos, offered by his office, of schools upgraded at a cost of $8.3 million. With so much taxpayer money being poured into Nauru, it is disgusting to think that the ABC seeks to manipulate and deceive the public with such dishonesty.
There was a time when I held the ABC in high esteem and I am very disillusioned by deliberate distorted reporting.
