Well the global media are calling it a trade war so one of you must be wrong.

Totally agree with the South China sea problem, however, US has been doing this for years, militarising pacific Islands and establishing bases in many Asian countries. They did the same in Europe, encircling Russia. This is how the Cuban Missile Crisis came about.

With access to Nuclear weapons AND now developing nuclear delivery systems, military superiority is a moot point. At least 3 nations have the capability to wipe EVERYTHING out.

Make no mistake, the US is only interested in the US, and their constant war mongering for access to oil is testament to this. The recent bumblings by the administration clearly showed that their interests come first despite the harm on their smaller partners, including Canada and Australia.

China represents 1.4 billion people. This 25% of the world's population under one tight regime must be respected for the significance it represents regarding all global issues. All the bluster in the world won't change a thing. Tit for tat tariffs are having a far bigger impact on the US than China, and also at a whim, they can and have, devalued their currency, further thumbing their nose at the clueless US administration. The US and other world partners, need to come up with a better solution for the current crisis. Let's hope the current G7 summit can prove it's worth.

In the meantime, China is still our biggest trading partner by far, and we must appreciate their role in helping us through the last 25 years without recession. Fair but firm, we should limit foreign ownership.

I think it is disgusting to label Australian workers lazy. Most roles I have had over the last 20 years have involved at least one and a half, if not 2 jobs. No-one should have to work themselves to the grave. The biggest problem with Australia, is our anti-nuclear stance, which has denied cheap energy for manufacturing and homes for over 50 years.
