I don't think Trump is anybody's stooge, excluding Russia.
That's because he's simply too unpredictable.
Russia seems to have some compromising information on him, obtained using Cold War methodologies. Which Putin is highly skilled at obtaining being ex KGB. Russia wants NATO broken up because Putin's dream is the reunification of the former USSR. Trump is obliging.
But he's an unreliable person. He's obligated to Putin for swinging the election for him. So he can manage to be controlled for that purpose.
Otherwise too unpredictable. He simply doesn't follow traditional alliances.
