A few bullet points:
Land isolated from the rest of the world, seperated by seas and oceans. NZ even further out so even less affected.
No countries bordering it.
A very spread out population over the land.
Small population overall
Urban areas not densely populated (compared to for eg New York or Rome, etc)
A hot country
Very small amount of initial infections in comparison to the USA and Europe (easier to control outbreaks)
In comparison to Europe: Australian young people move out of home once they finish school.
Not so in Europe for example where they live with their parents and/or grandparents for a lot longer.

Yesterday in the US.

180,000 new cases, 1400 deaths, serious or critical cases jumped from 18000, to 32,000 and you go on with this bullshit.
What is wrong with you?

I know, Trump said a couple of weeks ago:
