I think that means a President cannot pardon someone for an impeachment conviction.

The one (almost) certainty is that a President cannot pardon themselves. One cannot be ones own judge so "they" say.

The personal risk for Trump when he pardons co-conspiritors is that it legally obligates then to sing on him. They are not protected by the self incrimination clause and can be found in contempt of a court if they fail to testify truthfully.

The one absolute certainty is that Family Trump are as slippery as eels.
