That is another option, which I have been considering, weaning off.
Generally, I do not have much depression, but have been on heaps of different antidepressants for a long time, because of my extreme panic attacks.

From that first link, which was interesting, it led to another one, see above. This is interesting too, to read that depression is a bodies safety mechanism.
For me, if I do leave the house, I will literally freeze in the middle of the road when crossing.

What stops a panic attack normally is valium. It works really well. Dr’s are loath to prescribe it, they say it is addictive, I think they are talking BS.
It was Mothers little helpers, long before anti depressants. I am allowed 50 pills for 3 months, prescribed by a psychiatrist.
So I take them only as needed. The only other alternative is alcohol. which is a double edged sword.

I must give this some thought. I was in a clinic once for 5 weeks and came out like a junkie on 7 different types of drugs. I quit them all cold turkey, which was both dangerous and agonising. But a GP insisted I must take something and put me on prozac, how dumb was I to comply.

But I eventually quit those and just took valium and Baclofen as needed. But Baclofen has some bad side effects.
Then 5 years ago after my Dad died, I had a breakdown and one of my daughters was screaming at me to take anti depressants, I was in a bad way so I did.
But thinking back I think I was better without them.

I am sorry for babbling on so much. I have taken St Johns Wort, but it made me loopy.

Hope you can get to open the curtains , let the sun in and take a few steps to open the front door and maybe a few small steps to the street and back , in the morning .
My father was on valium , he did become addicted to it , fortunately he did not take other drugs (apart from tobacco ) when using it
