whether someone opined that Biden would outperform in a debate with trump or not is irrelevant
what is relevant is that Harris is NOT Biden.
Biden was clearly in mental decline well before the debate.
Harris has a solid performance in most debates.
Trump's performance has been littered with a bitter face, negative chasing horror head.
But, IMO - in the end, the debate - unless one candidate really mashes up - will be irrelevant as they usually are.
Bidens atrocious performance was a rarity for debates mattering. Normally, they make no difference.
IF there's a risk for each candidate in next Tuesday's debate - the higher risk will be for Trump at a guess.
Harris might come out naked and fall off the stage pissed. A tad unlikely.
Trump may fall into being himself ------- a much greater likelihood. And that for him in the past, has been a negative, certainly not a positive.
Harris - should be a known in this debate, there's been no great changes other than she is running for the big gig this time.
Trump however - has several differences
1. he might be suffering from PTSD
2. he's definitely showing signs of age since the last set of debates before the last Biden one. The Biden Trump debate from weeks back? can we count it? I don't know. Joe lost it - Trump didn't win it.
3. Trump is well on the backfoot atm - and he's got a LOT riding on winning this Presidency ------- staying out of jail is one thing.
He might fire up under the pressure ---------- he might also blow up under the pressure.
