Did anyone tell these galahs of just how much carbon, etc, goes into producing wind turbines, solar panels, etc etc etc!!

Yes they know how much carbon goes into manufacture but the carbon cost is recouped in a few months of operation.
Coal fired plants also have a carbon cost associated with their construction.
When a wind turbine reaches end of life, maybe after 15 years, it might be refurbished with a new improved upgrade.
Being factory made they benefit from economies of scale.
