disagree - IMO - he has shown leadership - it's just piss poor leadership - he's showed that he can't run a chook raffle
it's the similar example of how Hitler lost the war that he shouldn't have lost -
because he did actually make leadership decisions --------- just the wrong ones
What's becoming IMO - clearer and clearer is that in pretty much every failure of leadership on a large scale (or a hell of a lot of them) --
that the major reason for failure is that leaders are making decisions on ideology instead of good strategy
the examples from past and present are in amazing alignment right now for some reason --
Hitler - many decisions made because of Nazi beliefs - not logical strategy Trump - time after time Liberals in Australia - multiple examples in the recent past - including last week Greens - their past is riddled with ideological decisions that were duds Labor - interestingly not 'so' much - but, there would be lots still I suspect
it seems to me that at any time in history making decisions on an ideological basis is fraught with danger -- but, in a rapidly moving age - it's not just dangerous - it's deadly and will fail
eg ------- the Liberal Party of Oz - with a 'conservative' mindset --------- there's basic things about that -- basic beliefs - like small government, little interference etc etc
sorry - just doesn't work in a rapidly changing environment
we see evidence all around us that business - developing technologies will run rampant if allowed
so, Liberal decisions to allow things to run - because 'that's what Liberals do' - well - that's an ideological based decision -
completely against logic for the present time
we clearly need to control financial institutions, we need to control social media companies, health providers, god knows what
as we race out new industries and technologies ----------- apps for this and that - ubers, airbnb, god knows what -------- drones, electric scooters --
our entire world is changing and changing fast --------------- we actually need governments - some how to keep up with it
how?? --- different debate - but, one thing is as sure as god made little apples --
freedom for business to do what it likes is just deadly - it needs some controls
heaven forbid - the USA is a bloody good example of what happens when you let things go pretty much uncontrolled
they brought us the GFC for gods sake and now, one man uncontrolled - brought us into a trade war - who knows what's next
