have a ref for Donny's work

damage was done because of Trump's kneejerk instant decision (good idea)

it took hours for some to twig and days for most to twig - that this was one of the United States greatest betrayals of war - to abandon it's friends and without any warning whatso ever

America would never be trusted again by anyone who knew what happened

''American collaborators were affected by Donald Trump's executive order banning entry from certain Muslim-majority nations. Here are the key points:
    1. The executive order, known as Executive Order 13769, initially banned entry for citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen[1].
    2. Special consideration was given to Iraqi interpreters who worked with U.S. troops. The Pentagon launched an effort to provide special consideration for these Iraqi collaborators[3].
    3. Iraqi translators who worked with U.S. troops were to be given waivers, allowing them entry despite the ban[3].
    4. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clarified that special immigrant visa holders would be treated the same as green card holders, who were not affected by the ban[3].
    5. The order suspended the Visa Interview Waiver Program, which had allowed frequent visitors to the U.S. to skip an in-person interview at U.S. embassies and consulates. This change affected all applicants, including potential collaborators[3].
While the ban did initially cause confusion and concern for American collaborators from the affected countries, steps were taken to mitigate its impact on those who had assisted U.S. forces, particularly Iraqi interpreters and translators. The administration recognized the importance of maintaining support for these individuals and made efforts to exempt them from the ban's restrictions[3].
