The fires in California are mainly happening on Federal, not State land.
Guess who's responsible for the maintenance of Federal Land? Donald J. Trump. The state is burning out of control and he's washing his hands of all responsibility- which is so, so typical of him. Never, ever takes any responsibility for anything.
And when the state authorities ask for help, he shuts the door on them by stating his idiotic trope "it'll get cooler soon". I'm sure that's a great comfort to the people that have lost everything- including their lives.
