The polls cannot be precise in system that don’t have compulsory voting.
Neither the Brexit vote or the Presidential vote involved compulsory voting
and could not predict the number that would not so.
At least with Brexit result 52/48 a majority vote won it, however, with Trump
He won because of a quirk in the system as Hillary Clinton received several
million more votes than Trump.
On the media, if the media was not there to hold politicians and govt's to account
we would all be the poorer for it, democracy would be the poorer for it. We have sufficient diversity in the media to enable people to see all sides of the story so people can make up there own minds. Some politicians including Trump will lie through their teeth so you cannot accept their utterances as gospel to be believed without question.
As individuals we don't have the resources to do the investigative work to get to the truth
and to have the ability to disclose it fearlessly. So many scandals and corruption would never have been disclosed if not for the media.

Dude, if you have to quote "a quirk in the system" for any outcome that favors your opinion its time to reevaluate that opinion. There are no "quirks" in the the system, there is only the system. The outcome of that system is the result. Quirks included.
