@Nero48 - YOu are right, of course, it is meant to provoke. BUT I would have initiated a conversation, tried to find out why, what the circumstances of his/her life are/were? I don't condemn anyone for their political views, because there are always reasons, as understood by them.
America has a lot of healing to do, if it is ever to become the civil and progressive society again the world has gotten to know America from its past and progressive history. The divide in American society probably has a lot to do with so many impoverished people who see no way out, and have their noses rubbed in their perceived poverty (by world standards poverty is something entirely different) by the constant media presence of the loud and aggressive show ponies of both sexes - of 'success' !!! There is a lot of 'envy' - envy of wealth, status, beauty - you name it - going on, which is stoked by everything modern society promotes and stands for. Of course, Trump, embodies this in a totally shameless way (gilding the Oval Office seems to have been one of his preoccupations!!) - but his line was: 'you can have all this, if you vote for me!' Yes, the 'Wizard of Oz' can do it all!
Recently I listened to a segment on RN about the shortage of psychologists and similar professionals in that field (in Australia!) etc. for people with depression etc. and I believe the high expectations everyone seems to grow up with, and lack of community participation have a lot to do with mental illness, or perhaps too much preoccupation with the 'self' rather than looking outward towards family or community.
Everything has a way of getting back to some sort of equilibrium - in this case, I am hoping sooner rather than later Go well Taurisk
