My previous reply to you got lost in my phone's mystery zone.
It's nothing to do with religion except indirectly. The west used to care about defending freedom. Israel is a free country swimming in a sea infested with autocratic & Islamist sharks and without protection from the US primarily it will eventually go under. Its European allies, as they used to be, are so frightened of the Islamists they have imported into their own countries that they have all but abandoned Israel.
While Trump's there I don't see the US doing the same.
