There are a few reasons but trump wont day it.
1. I heard yhat in the US in certain states it takes upto two eeks to get your results back...so any chance of contact tracing is lost.
2. Resources that go into testing by medics (US has 60 million tests done..never mind the the per head which is still high, but the sheer resources for such a spread out country is truly amazing. But these resources could be put to better use for eg. Treating people with other critical illnesses.
3. The most important pt.: If one believes that the virus should be allowed to spread as much as possible so that it weakens and/or more people become immune and/or reach herd immunity.....then you would want less or even zero testing. This is for some people a radical approach and they get very angry and aggressive...but a quick look at history of pandemics on Wikipedia will give u all the info u require, that u cant fight it but just live with it and manage it. Trump said it will go away and it just might ...(in 2 months hehe)
