Thanks for your thoughts NJ but the question remains unanswered.
Is obstruction of an investigation into "something" a crime? If not, could you please (sensu lato) clarify your definition of obstruction? Are you drifting into Known Unknowns etc? An investigation doesn't pronounce an action a crime, it provides facts to be determined by others. Why impeded an investigation if you are certain that the outcome will be "no crime committed"?
