Well managed companies keep shareholders (the owners of the company) up to date no matter the nature of the news, it's their duty.

I respect some people may not want additional information on the progress (then simply don't read the announcements) but I'm sure all astute investors do.

The frustration lies, when they announce timeframes and then don't stick to them. If they go outside these, they should release an update.

It's about building shareholder confidence in the management.
