Thanks so much for that heads up about Tru Screen relisting in NZX.
Understandably I don’t look here at the PLT board very often. A pleasant surprise. I always thought that the TruScreen product (opto-electronic wand) and business model of PLT had great merit and I thought its demise was a gross waste. The prospect of getting a company up and running during the GFC, when loan funding was extremely scarce, was always going to be problematic.
It is my normal practice to do homework, to attend company meetings, and to ask relevant questions in order to understand the culture and competence of the leading lights. With most small companies you can’t just believe the ASX announcements. I really felt sorry for Rob Hunter and Ben Dillon (CEO) who were clearly very genuine, worked hard, and knew what they were doing. Seems they managed to retain all the IP.
Ben Dillon appears to have set up his own company (Manticor Pty Ltd) since then. Martin Dillon, CEO TRU, appears to be Ben’s brother (also looks similar). I didn’t meet him previously. I should think there would be much beneficial company connection between them. Haven’t yet researched all the detail available on TRU but the world wide spread of products of TRU in the space of just one year is amazing. Clearly this is the pickup from PLT. All the old contacts and the expertise are still there.
Are people discussing NZAX TRU on a board somewhere? (HC TRU is a different company.)
