You need an app to download/pay for your power and some of the phone companies dont have coverage when you need it. That might be more on the charging companies not figuring that out before they built the recharging outlet. Now they know there are enough people using their chargers, they are price gouging people from the city. Classic stuff. Probably owned by Woolies..lol The real risk is fire. It does not often happen, but if it does happen, get the hell out of there. We have seen 2 car ferries go up in smoke carrying these things. You cant put that out. A house up the road had an issue on recharging and lost part of the house. You will know the smell straight away since you would never have smelt something like it before. Go upwind if you see a car fire and put your aircon on reverse of turn it off with windows up. The off gas is deadly. These things ever go up in a car park, and we might all be reading about a tragedy. If one ignites in a tunnel, good luck. As Cadongan says, 'Imagine when we have car parks full of these things and one goes up in flames'! That will like one of those car ferries accidents. He calls it a great experiment with our health. The govts have been brain dead at the wheel, because they are pushing their green agendas. They are knowingly turning a blind eye to the risks. Two electric trucks in QLD went up in flames and London is taking their EV buses off because of recent fires. The govt and car companies are pretending everything is fine. Both maybe found criminally negligent. There are no proper fire fighting outcomes for these things and fire fighters have become disabled trying to fight them. Looks and sounds ok with an outdoor home charger driving for lattes, but outside of that, they need seem to need work. The other serious problems are resale value and depreciation. Go figure! Personally not going near one for 5 years until all this is sorted out. Can only imagine what a second hand Tesla will be worth then. Meanwhile, the govt will rort everyone with taxes. The fact that the petrol car was cheaper is something else when you consider that there is already a massive tax on petrol and it still cant compete.
