Engines seizing is usually a (poor) maintenance issue. Change the oil annually and replace the filter and it should keep going for decades.
8 year battery warranty for an EV is just too short, given the battery pretty well is the car. Way too expensive to replace if you have to pay for it out of your own pocket.
