Yes at least when you are familiar with a cars controls you don't need to look to operate them, unfortunately you always need to look to operate a touch screen which means taking your eyes off the traffic which can be fatal. Luckily Teslas all have a good voice activated system for their controls so you don't have to use the touchscreen for most functions.
