Julia has just introduced a new global tax that can only cost everyday Australians more. It's been introduced with an attempt to cushion the near term financial impact but everyone is aware the costs are designed to keep going up. Trying to pretend this inital compensation as some great benefit is transparent to everyone. As is I can't believe the majority would actually believe they will be better off.
Julia is now in a situation where she will be held responsibile for every single price impact going forward, warranted or not. All Abbott has to do is hold her accountable for the cost of living increase and it's game over.
There is just no way in 2013 that anyone could see a positive with this scheme, and with cost of living already going through the roof plenty of people will be very very angry. The destruction of the European economies that were to embrace these draconian measures will be held up as a model as to where we are heading. There are just so many negative aspects to this, and Australia is now so far out on a limb in respect to our competitors that Labor will be gone for a generation.
