all Australia is suffering from is a multi decade lack of thought on power generation and transmission as a nation - a national plan, a national energy bank

vision -------- a really strange concept in politics in Australia

which shows a clear and specular lack of vision

again and again - what the problems in Australia now are all from a lack of thinking and actions from decades past

decades of doing nothing

you cannot just flick some fingers and fix that - you cannot rewind the clock

the deals that should have been done on gas - are not done, they do not exist.

the solar panel industry - which Australia started - has gone. Australia let it go, just fritter away and off it went to China.

the highly educated AND experienced people who now would be 40 to 50 years old - they do not exist - because Australia didn't create them decades ago and Australia didn't seed, fertilise and grow new industries to absorb those people -------- none of it exists

and it's not possible to run down to the shop and buy it in - bring it home in a big big trolley - it's just not doable

All those decades ago - Australia, instead of sitting back and as John Howard stated - 'we thought all we had to do was to watch the spending and we'd be alright' -

pfffffffffffffffffffffffffft - a recipe for disaster decades on

and here we are - the 'sit back and do nothing, just count the pennies and don't spend'

Australia should have been spending like mad - spending on it's people, spending on seeding industries, spending on infrastructure

instead- we've got problems -------- very low to no returns from foreign owners who reap our resources, we've got now large social issues with housing crisis, health crises, aged care crises, we've got robbers as corporates, we've got scam central, we're money laundering central for the globe into basic things like residential real estate, we've got a disaster in STEMS research and education, we can't even hold the few STEMS people we had - they are buggering off in droves.

this is all due to a spectacular lack of vision and guts and commitment and drive to build an actual nation

can the tide be turned? phew? ------------- if one looks at an old car, sitting in an old broken down barn where the weather has been coming in for decades, it's rusty beyond belief, everything is stuck, corroded, rotted, there are rats nests everywhere, there are no parts available --

can it be restored? -------------- well, yes - but, boy - it's a hell of a job and it takes -

time
large buckets of money
commitment plus
patience
persistence
skill
knowledge
the right tools


what does that suggest --------- it suggests that there is no quick fix, there is no magic wand - there is only one road ------- difficult, long, costly

and all nearby have to be on board - or else, it ain't happening

if you take it to the power situation --------- the same thing. No bull that harry from next door is trained in this stuff because he fixes tractor engines - so he'd make a good vintage restorer - nope

it's a different gig

harry might be able to build a coal fired station - he hasn't a clue how to build a nuke station or a national power network - for that --------- you need the list of above
