The company is playing the take-over card exactly as should be done - continue to build collaborations with worlds largest pharmaceutical companies covering diverse areas, stand firm against these parties taking the libraries in-house & it keeps Phylogica deep in the guts of each partnership. Sure it's understandable that they have made early offers to aquire the company but management standing firm on inheret values is a great outcome & builds confidence that they are indeed all eyes on the bigger picture. Not only builds confidence with shareholders but sends a message to the big pharma "if you want it, lowball offers wont get you there".
It's understandable that they will sit back & wait for succesful outcomes on their individual projects before assigning values to it, but with the company rapidly expanding it's collaborations & bringing more and more of the majors to the table it will also create pressure amongst those to act early.
What's $250m to big pharma ? whats $500m ? whats $1B ? in reality it's a very little price to pay for innovation, something that ranks so highly in the industry & puts it ahead of the game with its peers.
It might not be this year, it might not be next year but aslong as the company continues to expand these collaborations & prove succesful against targets - it will come. The question then becomes who gets it & who misses out amongst the big pharma & will it be pushed by succes from an individual collaboration or will someone jump early ahead of the pack to secure it before one of its oompetitors gets in first ?
