The Leaf is a special case, the early ones especially had a limited battery life because Nissan chose to just have passive cooling for the battery. If they were driven briskly or in hot conditions with no regard for the battery temperature warnings then they failed quite quickly. The later Leafs with the 7yr warranty have improved cooling and shut down if they become too hot to protect the battery.
All other EVs have active cooling which extends the battery life and like a lot of things if you treat them with some mechanical sympathy you can expect a longer than average life as well.
