    Flow batteries are better (last longer, mainly), but they are huge, so only good for off-grid and community batteries atm. Australian Vanadium have a subsidiary company making the batteries, and they are hard at work trying to make them small enough for residential use.

    Hydrogen... ugh. Possibly useful for planes, ships and large trucks, but not for cars and smaller trucks. It costs millions to get a hyrdogen charging station going, vs less than $100k (?) for a fast charger.
