How does oil price, recession, coronavirus affect a gold explorer?

These things cause decline in sharemarket which causes an increase in gold price, leading to a ripe environment for good news to be more impactful on share price. This should not be a 'down with the market' stock, more like a hedge against a broader bearish market because of gold exposure. Yes i understand just an explorer but that's what you get for tiny mcap. Risk v reward is good here, can't see much downside. I don't see the sense in the selloff, but understand the ease in which some can be swept up in fear of losing capital in times like this so many liquidate assets for protection and fair enough as everybody has different situations. Buy? Sell? Whatever makes people comfortable.
