RBI (Reserve Bank of India) just updated its financial metrics to July 2016. Previously, this was only updated to March 2016.
As of July 2016, the metrics are...

ATM's - 201,861
POS terminals - 1,443,899
Credit Cards - 25,943,794

And the big number ...
Debit Cards -  697,222,455

That's nearly 700m debit cards on issue, which is almost a 50m increase from March 2016 to July 2016. That's a huge gap up, twice Australia's population in debit cards issued all within 5 months.

All metrics are ticking up and rapidly.

All bodes well for TSI India and India in general.
