Mount Burgess to drill new Namibia anomaly

AUSTRALIAN junior Mount Burgess Mining has discovered a coincident gravity and magnetic "low" geophysical anomaly at its Tsumkwe diamond joint venture project in Namibia.

The anomaly is interpreted to represent an intrusive body around 325m wide and the company said it considers the anomaly to be an ideal structural setting for a kimberlite-type intrusion.

According to the company the target is located on a subtle east-northeast to west-southwest trending structure, which intersects a major trending regional structure 1.5km to the north.

The discovery was made after assessment and interpretation of recent gravity surveys and aeromagnetic surveys, which had been conducted over a 45km zone.

It is within this 45km zone that Mount Burgess believes it could find the primary source for previously discovered loam G10 garnets and the diamond/G10 garnet discovered during a drilling program in September.

The company has ceased percussion drilling of the project for Christmas and intends to follow-up this anomaly early next year.

The Tsumkwe project is located 450 km northeast of Windhoek on the Botswana border in "Bushmanland" Namibia.

The project covers some 8,000sq.km held under nine exclusive prospecting licences, seven of which are in joint venture with Kimberlite Resources (10%).

Shares in Mount Burgess were trading at 12 cents this morning on the Australian Stock Exchange.
