one thing that attracts the average person to invest in property is negative gearing. they are fascinated and thrilled how much they can save in tax by negative gearing.
reducing taxes should never be the main focus of any investment decision. take a look at bhp....they pay billions of dollar in taxes yet the average earning after tax per hour for the company was ~3.4 million dollars last yr! point here is that reducing tax is of course important but should never be the main reason for you to put your hard earned money into some scheme just because some "expert" in the field recommends you......hell if i want to offload a bunch of shares and there's no buyers for my shares it's only natural for me to ramp up the stock and arouse interest while i offload it quietly.same principle for property.follow the trend.
