According to the foreign trade statistics (preliminary) for 2008 released by Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS), iron ore exports from Darwin in Northern Territory during the period were 1,064 kilo tons (Kt), comprising lump, ROM and fines ore. The exports tripled the level in the previous year. Territory Resources Limited has been exporting Francis Creek iron ore through this port since September 2007.
