I knock over a roo once every 2 years as an average with my car.
I always stop to check if they are killed outright, if it is a male/female and if a mother I check the pouch.
I have recovered a few viable Joey’s and taken them to the W.I.R.E.S people but mostly I’ve had to euthanise them, it surely ruins my day but the idea of just driving on appalls me even more.
The number of kangaroos that fall victim to vehicle strikes is amazing and appalling at the same time, heading back up the coast this morning and will be very surprised if I don’t see at least a few fresh victims since last Thursday’s trip.
They are remarkable creatures.
