I'm relying on the locals who have lived here forever and consensus seems to be you can stay up to Cat 3 - my house faces North towards the top of Hinchinbrook Island so the strongest winds will probably come across the old marina.

Yasi was Cat 5 but it was huge more like a hurricane - I am a bit concerned its going to hit coinciding with the king tides - it was the storm surge that did most of the damage to the houses in my estate with Yasi apparently it didn't go through this house but it did go through the garage which is 1.5 meters below the house slab
