Tuesday March 12 - Observer day

SPI Futures traded in a 43 point range last night, with a high of 6224, low of  6181 and a close this morning at the top, at 6224 up 38 points on volume of 11,000 contracts. Gaps up at 6226, 6271 and 6285 from previous days and down at 6207, 6203, 6197, 6183 from last night and 6171 and 6162 from previous days. DOW up .79 pct, SNP up 1.47 pct and Canada (resource driven) up less at .69 pct. VIX down 10.72 pct to 14.33. DOW did well to recover from the lows after the latest Boeing crash sent DOW futures down early, and I read two 'observers' reports this morning which contradicted each other on the US-China trade talks. One was good, one was bad. Looks like the markets went with the good one... Gotta love that Hopium..



Today in 2012, China recorded its highest trade deficit in over a decade, later reported as the largest drop in 22 years... Observers said the numbers were impacted by Chinese New Year. Humm, and what happened last week ? Oh yeah, China’s exports crashed by 20.7 per cent in February, the largest drop in three years, led by a large fall in trade with the United States. February is Chinese New Year.. Humm, maybe those Observers are correct.  Have a nice day.
