Yes ... and where every man and his dog fishes so I go to the deeper side - yesterday was North West at 73m deep.
Nothing doing for 40mins then whack.
I'm building up to eventually fish to 200-250m deep in the middle of Cook Strait on a good day.
The best thing about these jet skis is that you cover the ground fast and can get in quickly if it starts to blow up unexpectedly. They will handle much rougher conditions than a boat under 6m but once the swells or bigger waves get white caps (wind related) the best way is between waves or with a following sea. But fishing in big seas isn't the best as the ski pops up and down like a cork.
