New year closing highs for DJIA and SPX, but both just shy of September 23 intraday highs by 5.9 and 3.96 respectively.
SPX also posted sixth consecutive green day, first since November 2005 and March 2003 when the bull run began (via a quick scan).
Dollar index hit the 25-day sma ceiling again, and came back to near its September lows.
Indicators for the indices suggest a couple of days more up and ditto down for dollar.
