Eagle, wherever money can be made a market will be created. Access to the population through news media is worth a lot of money. The right story can move markets. I know you see where I'm coming from. It is the same world over.
Media in Australia is a disgrace. No different to other parts of the world I guess. They have to fill pages of publications and 1/2 hour of TV news everyday and the more titillating and/or sensational it can be the more lure in idiots to beleive it. The latest fad is to have people bear their emotions on TV, can't have a story without a few crocodile tears. It is all pathetic.
Finance press so often make grand unverified statements, I'm at a loss how they are allowed to do so. Their statements can have as much power as a company announcement. Yet, a company announcement is subject to the regulators watchful eye, press can print what they like.
