I have been following the list of overseas UK securities Meryl Lynch lend against since tullow took over Hardman Resources. There have been about 250 on the list but it did not include Tullow. I assumed it was because it wasn't large enough. PTFP perhaps you are right, it may not fit their risk profile or perhaps their is a time lag until it is included.
I contacted the margin lending section this mourning. The person did not know the reason it was not included. Said he would have to contact the international desk who would make that decision. However, he also said that if I was considering opening up a margin loan with them the minimum size loan they would consider would be $250,000.
