I was just thinking how brilliant the food was over there - for those able to look beyond the jaffle.
Something about the fertile volcanic soils, the genuine freshness of the herbs, spices and veg and - for the gourmet travellers - the enormous lotus-eating expat community
…. and of course all those luxury hotels who demanded excellent chefs from all over the world (who then fell in love with the place and stayed).
I just found the website I used to explore to find new places to ‘eating adventure’ still exists!
https://www.balieats.com/
Cara here is the Sanur page in case you would like to trip down memory lane and see if any of your locals still exist too;

Did you ever find Nogo Ikat on the main road in Sanur?

Take favourite old garment, go there, choose new favourites in regards colour and pattern from a kaleidoscope of sturdy, silky cotton bolts of fabric, and a few days later a magic new skirt or shirt is yours to bring home ..
cheers
