I think you are correct Plonka, the Tungsten Niobium is a coating over a copper electrode, this was previously a cobalt nickel coating. My understanding is that both cobalt and tungsten prevent the formation of dendrites, tree like structures that cause cracking in the lithium structure and battery failure. Tungsten Niobium is a superior solution compared to previous attempts at preventing dendrite formation and doesn't have the issues that are present with mining practices that Cobalt is associated with.
